A glimpse into my intimate horizons...

Aunt Rachel
Monday, October 24, 2005
Stupid blogger swallowed my previous entry. I've decided to not rewrite the whole thing. What a heartache!
I went over to my cousin's place yesterday to visit. Eileen was back for a week-long holiday in Singapore and so Mom and Dad insisted that the whole family pay them a visit before they fly off. 5 minutes prior to our arrival, Eileen had called to ask if we were coming soon. Apparently, 2 year old Alex had been standing at the gate eagerly waiting for our arrival and was giving the adults a headache dealing with his restlessness.
Sebby's exceptionally well-behaved for a 2 month old baby. He only cried for like 5 seconds the whole time we were there. I was so surprised that the racket in the house was caused by Alex and not him. It's no wonder they call them the Terrible Twos and Threes. I got to carry Sebs for a little while and he was so frail and puny I thought I might have broken his bones.
It was a cosy and comfortable evening til Janice confirmed that we were to be called Aunt Rachel and Uncle Joel. My hasty and immediate reaction didn't prevent us from being called that though. I felt so... OLD!
Gee.
Aunt Rachel.
Eeks.
Yucks.
Pui.
No way.
Sheesh kapeesh. So maybe I don't have a choice. It's alright. I'll be the cool and funky aunt. I guess I can't expect to be associated with being in the same generation as them kids. The age gap is after all, 15 freaking years.
Somebody stop time.
Please.
