A glimpse into my intimate horizons...

Dadsies
Thursday, June 22, 2006
It's dad's birthday today. Since Joel wasn't home, I had my parents all to myself when we were headed for dinner. (not that we're fighting for their affection) As I walked in between mom and dad, I really didn't feel my age. It was like a scene back when I was an only child. (which must have been really REALLY long ago since I can't even remember how it was like before Joel popped out) I clung on to dad and mom as we trodded on our way. We were talking about one of the presents we sweet children got for him before. It was a card where the both of us had written in and Joel had reminded Dad of his unfortunate experience on one of the holidays they both went on together. It made me laugh so hard I could have hurled on the floor grabbing my tummy.
This is what I really love about Dad. Besides letting us make fun of him and taking it so well in his stride, he always showers smooches on his reluctant children and is the kind of father that doesn't want his children to grow up. I know I've got it good. Simply because God gave him the role of being my father. I always thought that if I were to marry, I'd marry a guy of his calibre. He is the kind of person I'd want for my kids. Funny in his own way, gentle and loving, I really couldn't ask for more.
So dad, thank you. For loving me the way you do. :)
